1. CANCELATION & PAYMENT POLICY

STANDARD BOOKINGS

The cancellation and payment conditions stated in the booking confirmation apply to each booking. These conditions may vary depending on the type of booking, date of stay, and booking channel.

Payment conditions

  • Payment is made upon arrival at the hostel, in cash or by card.
  • During selected high-demand periods, we may require a non-refundable deposit 3 days before arrival. The deposit is 100% for bookings of 1 night, or 50% for bookings of 2 or more nights.
  • If the required deposit is not paid on time, the booking may be cancelled without compensation.

Cancellation conditions

  • The booking can be cancelled free of charge no later than 23:59 on the fourth calendar day before arrival. For example, a booking with arrival on Friday can be cancelled free of charge until Monday 23:59.
  • For cancellations made 3 days or less before arrival, we charge a cancellation fee of 100% for bookings of 1 night, or 50% for bookings of 2 or more nights.
  • In case of a no-show without prior cancellation, we charge 100% of the booking price.

SMALL GROUPS

A small group is a booking that meets at least one of the following conditions:

  • booking for 9 or more people,
  • booking of 2 or more rooms,
  • the total booking price is CZK 20,000 or more,
  • booking for a stag/hen party or a similar event.

Group bookings made by e-mail or through the group booking form are subject to special conditions stated in the “For Groups” section.

Payment conditions

  • For small groups, we require a deposit of 50% of the total booking price.
  • The deposit is due no later than 60 days prior to arrival.
  • The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days before arrival, unless stated otherwise in the booking confirmation.
  • Payment can be made via a payment link, by card, or bank transfer.
  • If the deposit or remaining balance is not paid on time, the booking may be cancelled without compensation.

Cancellation conditions

  • The booking can be cancelled free of charge no later than 60 days before arrival.
  • For cancellations made 60 to 14 days before arrival, we charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking price.
  • For cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival, we charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the total booking price.
  • A reduction in the number of people or rooms may be considered a partial cancellation of the booking and may be subject to cancellation fees according to the date of the change.

Deposit for selected groups

For some groups, especially stag/hen parties, we may require a refundable security deposit of 500 CZK / 20 € per person. The security deposit is paid in cash upon arrival.

2. GENERAL

  1. We require that you present a valid photo ID upon check-in, preferably a valid passport or national identity card. Driving licenses or student cards are not accepted as valid IDs. 
  2. Check-out: Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their room and check out before 11 AM.
  3. Upon check-in, each guest will receive a room key card against a deposit of 5 € or 100 CZK. These key cards are activated for the period of stay only and must be handed back to reception upon check-out. 

3. AGE RESTRICTION &  ROOM ALLOCATION

  1. Age restriction. Customers under the age of 18 are only permitted to stay in private rooms.  All guest under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. 
  2. Age restriction for dormitories is under the age of 45. If this condition isn't met, the hostel reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time without a refund. 

4. GUEST BEHAVIOUR

  1. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff and property. 
  2. We reserve the right to request that any guest who breaks the rules leave the hostel without any refund. We also reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying any damage caused deliberately by the guest to the hostel’s property.
  3. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building. Any guest found smoking within the building will be charged a compulsory fee of 100 € or 2 500 CZK.
  4. Smoking is permitted on the teracce and in the outdoor patio. 

5. PERSONAL PROPERTY

  1. Guests are asked to use the lockers provided in each room, the safety deposit boxes at reception or the luggage store. Padlocks are available to borrow against deposit at reception. 
  2. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. Hostel Elf accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to property however sustained or caused. 
  3. You can safely lock your valuable things in safety boxes at the reception.
