ŽIŽKOV BEER FESTIVAL 2026

Every year at the beginning of June, Parukářka Park comes alive with one of the most popular events in Žižkov. The Žižkov Beer Festival brings together small Czech breweries, a summer atmosphere, concerts, food stands and one of the best views of Prague. If you want to experience Žižkov in a different way than just through its pubs and bars, this event is a great opportunity.

The festival takes place in Parukářka Park on Vrch sv. Kříže, a place with a special atmosphere of its own. During the day, you can come for beer tastings, food and a children’s programme; in the evening, you can enjoy concerts and a sunset over Prague. Entry to the event is free.

WHAT YOU CAN TASTE AT THE ŽIŽKOV BEER FESTIVAL

The Žižkov Beer Festival focuses mainly on small breweries and microbreweries. Visitors can try lagers, light and dark specials, wheat beers, yeast beers, top-fermented beers, unfiltered beers, as well as beers with lower alcohol content. This makes the event interesting not only for classic beer lovers, but also for anyone who enjoys discovering smaller breweries and less common beer styles.

The festival also includes food stalls. In 2026, visitors can look forward to langoš, Slovak specialities, Belgian fries, burgers, grilled dishes, churros, pancakes, Armenian shashlik, sausages, carp fries, homemade lemonades and summer cocktails.

WHY VISIT PARUKÁŘKA

Parukářka is one of the places that truly belong to Žižkov. It is large enough for a festival, but still feels relaxed and local. People come here for picnics, dog walks, sports and sitting with a view. During the beer festival, the park turns into a pleasant open-air event where you can spend the whole afternoon without feeling like you are in the middle of a huge commercial festival.

Its location is another advantage. Parukářka is right in Žižkov and can be reached quite easily from the city centre by tram or on foot from nearby parts of Prague 3. If you are staying at Hostel ELF or spending time around Husitská Street and Tachovské Square, you can turn your visit to the beer festival into a pleasant walk through Žižkov.

TIPS BEFORE YOUR VISIT

It is worth arriving earlier, especially if you want to taste beers from several breweries and avoid the biggest crowds. Parukářka usually gets livelier in the afternoon and evening, especially during the concerts. Since the festival takes place in a park, comfortable shoes, a blanket to sit on and some cash may come in handy in case some stalls do not accept cards.

If you are travelling with children, Saturday is the better choice thanks to the morning theatre performance and a generally more family-friendly atmosphere. If you are mainly interested in music and the evening programme, the best time to arrive is later in the afternoon.

WHAT TO COMBINE WITH YOUR VISIT

You can easily combine the Žižkov Beer Festival with a walk around the neighbourhood. Not far from Parukářka, you will find the National Memorial on Vítkov Hill, the Army Museum Žižkov, the Žižkov Television Tower and typical Žižkov pubs and cafés. This means your visit to the festival can become a full afternoon plan: first a walk, then beer, food and an evening concert in the park.
