Signal Festival 2025: The Magic of Light and Nature in the Heart of Prague 🌟🌿
The Signal Festival 2025 in Prague, held from October 16 to 19, transformed the city into a luminous canvas of digital art and immersive installations. This year's theme, "Solutions," explored the interplay between humanity, technology, and nature, marking the third chapter of the "Ecosystems" cycle Signal Festival.
Highlights of Signal Festival 2025
Major Video Mappings: The Old Town Hall tower featured "OVERLOЯD" by Italian studio MammasONica, a monumental projection examining the tension between data and emotions. Additionally, the Basilica of St. Ludmila showcased "ITERACE" by Spanish collective V.P.M., blending futuristic structures with the church's neo-Gothic geometry Expats.cz.
Signal INSIDE: This curated indoor program included seven exclusive installations, such as "Lux Domus" by Josep Poblet in the Archbishop’s Gymnasium chapel, and "Lone Soul Disco" at Tresor Club, merging dance and immersive art Expats.cz.
Signal SPACE: Located in the historic Old Town Market Hall, this digital art gallery featured global projects like the Infinity Room, offering a 10,000 m² space of artistic light installations Signal Festival.
Waterfront Projection: "Light of Tzolk’in" by Taiwanese studio Peppercorns utilized a ten-meter water wall on the Vltava River, creating a living canvas of light, movement, and music Expats.cz.
Bill Viola's Installation: At the National Gallery Prague – St. Agnes Convent, visitors experienced "Tristan’s Ascension," a monumental video installation delving into themes of death and spirituality Expats.cz.
Visitor Experience
The festival featured two main walking routes: City Centre and Vinohrady, open nightly from 19:00 to 24:00. Most outdoor installations are free, while Signal INSIDE required tickets due to limited capacity PragueGO. Visitors could navigate the installations using free maps available at Signal INSIDE offices or via a digital app Expats.cz.
Signal Festival 2025 not only illuminated Prague's architecture but also highlighted the city's commitment to integrating art, technology, and nature, offering both locals and visitors a unique cultural experience.
