Parking Around Hostel ELF – What You Need to Know

If you’re arriving at Hostel ELF by car, parking in the area can feel a bit confusing at first — after all, we’re located close to Prague’s city center. The good news is that there are several convenient options nearby, as long as you know where to look.

Short term parking

Street parking around the hostel is divided into two zones: 🔵 Blue Zones – Residents Only and 🟣 Violet Zones – for visitors. Both zones in Prague 3 are FREE from Friday 5 p.m. to Sunday 5 p.m., making them ideal for a weekend stay. During the weekdays, from Sunday 5 p.m. to Friday 5 p.m., the rules are different:

🔵 In the Blue Zones, parking is reserved for residents, and visitors can only park for a maximum of three hours. The fee is 60 CZK per hour, payable via parking app only. Our advice is to avoid Blue Zones on weekdays, as they are tricky for visitors.

🟣 In the Violet Zones, visitors can park for a fee of 30–40 CZK per hour, with a maximum stay of 24 hours. This makes Violet Zones a good option for a longer weekend: you can pay for 24 hours and enjoy the rest of the weekend for free. For a full weekend, this would typically cost around 720–960 CZK (30-40€).

If you find a parking spot, make sure to check the additional signs to confirm that you are parking correctly. Feel free to take a photo of the sign and double-check with our reception — we’re happy to help.

If you don’t have a parking app, don’t forget to pay at the parking meter. Simply enter your license plate number, select the duration of your stay, and pay with coins or card. Remember to place the parking ticket clearly on your dashboard so it’s visible from the outside.

Long term parking options

If you’re planning to park for several days, we recommend using a dedicated parking facility. Parking Žižkov is a budget-friendly option located about 30 minutes on foot from the hostel or just a few BUS stops away. Prices start from 180 CZK / 7.5€ per 24 hours. You can easily get back to Hostel ELF by bus 133 in just 8 minutes from the Malešická stop on the opposite side of the street from the parking lot.

If you prefer something closer to the city center and also to the hostel, Florenc Parking is another option. It’s more conveniently located, but also significantly more expensive, with prices starting from 920 CZK / 37€ per 24 hours.
