PUBLIC TRANSPORT + EXTRA TIPS :
The Prague public transportation network is cheap, efficient and highly integrated, making it easy to travel around the city. You can easily get around the city by metro, tram or bus. Prague Metro operates 05:00 - midnight. However, the public transport operates 24/7, so trams and busses are available all night long.

Taxi services
How to avoid being fooled
Taxi service in Prague might be a bit tricky, especially if you use the services offered by a private taxi driver. The most common way of cheating tourists is extra charging, so whenever getting a taxicab, ask the driver in advance the approximative price of the ride and pay attention that the driver sets the taxi meter to zero when starting the car.But if you negotiate your journey in advance and take in mind the night extra charges you don’t have to worry about anything. Taxi cabs are usually at your service anywhere in Prague in about 10-15 minutes after ordering (by phone ).
• Taxi maximum prices :
ride in the capital city............30,-CZK/km
boarding fee........................ 40,- CZK
waiting................................ 6,- CZK/min
!!! Fare from the city center to Hostel ELF is around 200,- CZK !!!

Student Discounts
The International Student Identity Card, ISIC, the most widely accepted form of student ID, provides discounts on sights, accommodations, food and transportation. Many of the museums in Prague are already so cheap, one can forgive the backers for not offering more discounts. However, some places do have the usual offers of admission discounts of 20-50% to ISIC members.Hostel ELF offers 5% students discount off dormitories ( except summer and top season ).
Visas
Everyone is required to have a valid passport (or ID card for EU citizens) to enter the Czech Republicc. Citizens of EU countries do not need a visa for any type of visit. Citizens of Australaia, Canadaa, Israell, Japann, New Zealand and the USA can stay for up to 90 days without a visa; other nationalities can check their visa requirements on www.czech.cz. Visas are not available at border crossings or at Prague's Ruzyně airport; you'll be refused entry if you need one and arrive without one.
